As a business attorney for almost forty years, David Price maintains a practice almost equally divided between litigation and transactional matters. He routinely represents clients forming and acquiring new businesses and has become particularly adept in counseling the needs of the small business owner. Mr. Price also has extensive litigation and trial experience in real estate, business and construction matters; representing almost equally plaintiffs and defendants. David has represented parties in telecommunications and healthcare antitrust litigation; in architectural, engineering and construction disputes; and in commercial, industrial and residential real estate disagreements. He is well versed in complex procedural issues and in facilitating resolution of even the most difficult disagreements. Mr. Price is also one of the Sacramento Valley’s most experienced sports lawyers, having served as general counsel for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings from the teams’ arrival in Sacramento in 1985 until his recent retirement from that position in 2016. The unique opportunity presented to David in this role enabled him to represent three of Sacramento's professional sports teams (the Kings, the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs and the CISL’s Sacramento Knights). In recognizing him as one of Sacramento’s few "sports lawyers," the Sacramento Daily Recorder noted that it was Mr. Price's "thoroughness and attention to detail" which have enabled him to continue to represent the Kings [for what is now a quarter of a century]. Mr. Price's experience, accessibility and consistent attention to detail have enabled him to provide quality, timely and cost-effective legal services to his clients. He maintain both the highest standards of professional competence and integrity, and the high ideals of ethics and public service.

David graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1975 with Honors in political science. He subsequently obtained his law degree in 1979 from the King Hall School of Law at the University of California, Davis. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1979. He has taught trial practice and sports law as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Davis School of Law; served for six years as a trustee on the Roseville Hospital Board of Directors, and was active for many years in youth soccer and little league. Mr. Price also serves as an arbitrator and a mediator for the Sacramento, Placer and Nevada County Superior Courts. Away from the practice of law, David has been married for more than 40 years and he and his wife love to travel the world and dote on their grandchildren.
